Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into an ethnically diverse family. Both her parents have both been English. Her family was raised in the south of a London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age fourteen. She went to an academy called the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned an acting BA. During her time at the academy, she performed in a number of performances on stage, such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her career as an actress with the film Storm Damage. Since then, she has been a guest star for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), opposite Colin Farrell. Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress, who was born into the large family. She was born to Patty and Roy Leggat. Her family included both parents Roy and Patty together with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. The four brothers of Ashley, each of them extremely physically active, were all playing hockey during the winters and baseball in the summer, so she basically grew up in parks and arenas. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She would dance. So when she was 2 and a 1/2 and a half, she began to take part in Baby Ballet. Ashley fell in love with dance when she was just a few years old. Ashley was a top competitor in divisions for jazz, tap hip hop, ballet Acrobatics, Lyrical Musical Theatre and pointe, until she finished from high school. Ashley took home the best soloist prize at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention a few.
